Blair Drummond Caravan Park, Cuthil Brea, Blair Drummond, Stirling, FK9 4UP, Tel 01786841208

To find site:- On the A84 two miles south of Doune watch out for left turn at sign for Cuthil Brea and camping site. Access is at far end of lane with passing passes and speed humps. People are asked not to arrive before midday and the reception is closed 1.00pm to 2.00pm.

Blair Drummond is a Caravan Club affiliated campsite. The site is open from mid March to early January and non member are accepted but not tent campers. The main part of the site is enclosed in a former walled garden. There are some pitches around the outside of the walled part. There are many mature trees in and around the site. There are 88 pitches of which 85 are on hardstandings, some on chipped granite but mainly open block paving which the grass grows through. Some pitches are occupied by seasonal users. There is one toilet block which is of a very good standard with spacious shower cubicles. Toilet cleaning times seem to be a bit elastic! Reception sells a few essentials. Site wide WiFi is available, you sign up and pay online. Television seems a bit problematic and getting a satellite signal requires careful pitch selection. For children there is an adventure style playground and a small kick about area. For those arriving late there is a parking area outside the site barrier with electrics. Whilst Blair Drummond is a very nice site at £23.50 a night it is a touch expensive given that we are outside the peak season. Date of visit late September 2011.

There is plenty of opportunities for days out from the site. Stirling is only a few miles away and Stirling Castle is well worth a visit. Stirling itself has a good shopping centre. There is a Park and Ride near the M9 which is worth using as parking in Stirling can be difficult and expensive. For children the Blair Drummond Safari Park, virtually, next to the site will be popular. For shopping there is both Sainsbury’s and Tesco in Stirling.
