To find site:- From the northern end of the Pont de Brotonne take the D982 towards La Trait and then take D143 to Jumieges. In Jumieges follow signs to campsite. NB It would not be advised to take one of the ferries across the Seine whilst towing a caravan. Although the ferries seem large enough, capacity for 8 cars and height of 3 metres, access over the ramps at certain state of tides could cause a problem.

Camping de la Foret is situated on the edge of the village of Jumieges and is only a short walk from the famous Abbey ruins. It is open from April through to the end of October which is handy for those travelling during the Autumn. There are about 75 touring pitches all on grass and separated by hedges. Many have their own fresh water and waste water point. They are mainly of a good size and some are quite generous. Access to pitches on the main site roads is good but some of the pitches are situated up short access roads and without a mover they could be difficult to get onto, particularly when the site is busy. There are also static caravans on site but these are placed to one side of the campsite. Electric points are rated at a handy 10amps and connectors are European standard CEE17 blue plugs. There are two toilet blocks of a good standard with seated toilets with paper provided. During the Autumn low season only one block is open. During the main season there is a swimming pool and next to Reception is a small shop. In low season a bakers vans calls each day. There is site wide WiFi provision and you can sign up online using a credit card. Its not particularly cheap, €15 for 3 days, but signal strength seems to be good. Camping Cheques are accepted out of the main season. Date of Visit late September 2010.

The local area seems to be quite fascinating and we only wished that the weather was better during our stay so that we could have explored a lot more. Rouen is not far away. There is a supermarket in La Trait about 4 miles from the campsite.
