This is a busy Municipal campsite on the edge of the delightful town of Obernai is open from mid March to mid January. There are 150 pitches which are on grass although some have grit based hardstanding in the centre of the pitch. Electricity and water are available to the majority of pitches. Although the pitches are of a good size the campsite feels cramped when full. There are two good quality toilet blocks. There are special hardstanding pitches set aside for motorhomes. Children have provision of play equipment. Reception sells a few essentials including local wines and bread can be ordered the day before. The internet can be accessed from a terminal in reception at a modest charge. I am sure you will generally find room at this campsite but if our experience is anything to go by it might be wise to phone ahead. We arrived on a Friday after a long journey and were informed that we could only stay one night, when we wanted to stay longer, as they had booked the campsite out to 3 groups/rallies arriving the following day. I thought this a bit daft for a Municipal Campsite! However there are some good alternatives in the area and I would be happy to suggest Clair Vacances near Herrlisheim as one.

Obernai town centre is only a short walk from the campsite and is well worth a visit. Obernai is on the Route des Vins so a useful stop over for wine lovers. Likewise for those heading to and from Switzerland it makes a useful point to break your journey.
