Plough Lane Caravan Site, Chippenham, SN15 5PS, Tel 01249750146

		To Find site:-
Leave M4 at junction 17 and head towards
Chippenham. At double traffic lights turn left at second set into Plough
Lane. The site is a few hundred metres along this road on the right.
There is a barrier with a telecom for you to
		contact reception.
Plough Lane is a delightful adult’s only campsite situated a
couple of miles north of the town of Chippenham and conveniently near
		the M4.
The care and attention lavished on the site is clearly
		obvious when you arrive.
		 Reception provides a really
comprehensive information folder on arrival which you can retain until
		you leave.
There are just 50 pitches, all of them on gravel
hardstandings of a good size and generously spaced. They are set out
		around
gravelled site roads with almost a garden like
appearance. There are both standard pitches and fully serviced, the
latter having a dedicated water supply and drain point.
		 Electric
points are convenient to all pitches and are rated at 16amps and use
CEE17 blue connectors. There are several service points dotted around
the site and the only chemical toilet emptying point is near to
reception. There is no dedicated drive over motorhome waste point but
site staff can arrange for a drain cover to be lifted if you have a
suitable waste hose to reach. Otherwise, of course, tanks can be
manually emptied. The toilet block is of an excellent standard and has
some nice touches. There is a covered washing up area plus addition
sinks in the well-equipped laundry room. There is not much lighting
around the site at night so a torch would be useful. The site has free
site wide WiFi but it does have DNS monitoring software which is in
place to prevent navigation to unsuitable websites! In reception there
is more local information plus book exchange. Price wise the site
operate a one price all season which can make early/late stays more seem
expensive compared to Club sites that operate seasonal pricing, during
our midweek stay, in early October,
		 the
site was only 20% full. The town of Chippenham is only a couple of miles away. There is an hourly bus service from near to the site into the town for those that don’t want to use their own transport. Chippenham is a good shopping centre and on the outskirts there are several supermarkets. Many places of interest are within easy travelling distance. About ten minutes’ walk from the site is the Plough Inn which has a nice looking restaurant although check the food serving times.
